Art and Science...

Last Sunday, the boyfriend and I went to the International Vintage Poster Fair at the Chicago Cultural Center. I wasn't really expecting much but boy, was I blown away. So much poster goodness!

Our favorite by far was the General Dynamics series by Erik Nitsche. My poor bf was drooling over all of these, I wanted so badly to make $1800 appear out of thin air, but alas, all my wishful thinking was for naught.

And now, a PSA about exercise...

I had a terrible yesterday. I was woken up with a frustrating phone call. It was nothing earth shattering-but stressful, nonetheless. I got dressed and went to the gym. While there, I chatted with some of my gym buddies and we discussed races we've done/are gonna do, talked about mundane everyday things, went into fitness class, got our butts kicked at said fitness class and then I went to the locker room to change. By the time I got to the locker room, I was smiling and looking forward to the day. Isn't it amazing what exercise can do? I forgot all about my problems. Plus, I used my frustration as a means to burn more calories. I am no Jillian Michaels, far from it, but to any of you who happen to read this here's some words of advice:

Having a tough day? Go for a run, jog, walk, bike ride-any sort of physical activity. It will do wonders. It did for me.

Anatomy of a picture

I would like to reach out to all you bloggers out there who take darling self-portraits, how do you do it?

I'm really awkward when taking pictures of myself and would like some tips. As you can see from the image above, I need some serious help.

Derek's uniform

I thought I'd share the boyfriend's uniform with you all. AA tri blend track shirt (just like me, except he wears the crew neck) and good ole' Levi's. Aren't boys in Levi's just so darn adorable?

Here's a funny story. I was telling my boyfriend how much I like the "boyfriend jeans" trend because they are so comfy. So he says, here try my jeans on (actual boyfriend jeans--not women's boyfriend jeans) and guess what? They fit like a glove, as in borderline too tight. That is not the look I'm going for. So I told him I need a boyfriend who wears bigger jeans. Of course, he could have responded with, I need a girlfriend with smaller hips and thighs, but he didn't. He's a nice boy.

Andy's uniform

Andy mentioned that her "uniform" consisted of many dresses and her chucks. I love my chucks but haven't seen much of them since the snow arrived.
