As a brand new homeowner, I rely on the internet for decorating ideas and diy so when I stumbled

upon Curbly, I hit the home design/diy jackpot. So many great diy projects! I found this project

in my inbox today and can't wait to try it out! I'm always on the search for more art for my house but

with my budget, this is exactly what I've been looking for.

The adorable Mosey made these awesome sequin tights. I can't wait to try my hand at a pair of these. I'm thinking these would make adorable stocking stuffers. {That's right, I brought up Christmas}

Sweet dreams...

I moved in with the boy a couple of months ago and am just now finishing up my move (bows head in shame). Our apartment is nice and cozy and I love it but I still feel like I need to do some decorating to get rid of the bachelor pad vibe that lingers. How awesome would this bird banner made by this talented lady look in our bedroom? I love the matching bird pillows. Truly inspired.

Pom Pom flowers...

So apparently I think I'm the new DIY queen or something because I've been taking on all these little projects the last couple of days. The latest being some pom pom flowers for the living room since fresh flowers in these lean times are becoming harder to afford. So I followed this easy-breezy tutorial and ta-da.... here's what I came up with:

The above image is a little joke; I made this on Photoshop and sent it to the bf while he was at work because he asked me what we should do on his and my day off. A man who likes my sense of humor--he's a keeper!

DIY love...

This post was inspired by the lovely Joanna and this post of hers.

So, the bf has recently taken up running. He ran a marathon this past summer in Seattle and he's been running all these fun 5Ks here in Chicago. In an attempt to be a supportive gf, I've made signs for him, I've made sure to attend all his races and I've brought my handy camera to capture all these important moments but for the last 5K he did this past weekend, I wanted to do something extra.

I went over to Jo-Ann fabrics and bought some iron-on-letters which cost about 5 bucks then I went across the street to Target and bought a long-sleeved crew neck for about 6 bucks. I then went home and came up with a funny little slogan for a shirt and ta-da here is my creation....{I opted for a funny slogan rather than a cheesy "I love my bf" one, he appreciated that}

The bf loved it! I think it turned out being a lucky charm for him because he was #488 in a race of about 3500 people. Whoo!

Neck to neck...

Who among us didn't fall a little more in love with Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere after seeing her in her lovely tulle necklace made by her mom? Of coure, the girl is so gorgeous, she could rock a potato sack and make it look like expensive couture. I digress.

I was so taken by her necklace and the fact that it was homemade that I searched and searched for instructions on how to make my own. I found a post by this lovely blogger dedicated to just this and jumped for joy! If you'd like to make your own ruffled party necklace like the one above, just follow these instructions. I can't wait to make my own!

Hours of fun...

As much as I've complained about summer school and all the work involved, I can't help but be kinda sad that I don't have class tomorrow, I won't see my fellow photo peeps and I won't get to discuss great photographers with my teacher, Jocelyn as I'd been doing these past eight weeks.

Of everything we discussed in my foundations of photography class, my favorite subject was pinhole photography. If you're not familiar with the concept it is basically photographing without a lens. The effect or result of the pinhole camera is similar to what the human eye sees, basically everything upside down. You can leave the shutter open as long as you please which results in some beautiful and ethereal images. The best part about pinhole cameras is that you can make them yourself. You can use anything to make a camera as long as you can punch a tiny hole through it and it doesn't leak light easily.

One of my favorite photographers who experimented with pinhole photography extensively is Diane Dobson Barton. She wrote a book for beginners which I'm dying to get my hands on. If you'd like to learn more about pinhole photography and how to make a camera, visit this wonderful site.

P.S. Apparently there is a worldwide pinhole photography day. Um, I'm psyched!
