Role Model...

Probably the most popular photograph by Lisette Model; a daring documentarist in the 50's who chose to display true American beauty based on her standards not the rest of the country's.

This picture displays sheer joy and exuberance, it makes me smile every time I see it. Although it also evokes many other emotions, which I'm sure was Model's intention all along; we can see how our first reaction can help us appreciate the true essence of her work.

Happy Monday!
